NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING

NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING

Is a self choreographed solo originally created as a part of Hall for Cornwall's Scratch Night in May 2024. It was well received and later developed into a longer work that premiered as a part of Resolution Dance Festival 2025 at The Place Theatre, London.

I wanted to create a piece encapsulates the ambivalence of pretending that we know what we are doing, all while having absolutely no idea what is going on. The solo itself is an ode to the dawning realities of adulthood that emerge in our late 20s and the frisson that comes along with it.

What I wanted investigate the most is the humanity of how we all have to navigate a world full of expectation, ambiguity and enquiry. The arc of the work is tinted with humour, and is characterised through vigorous floor, tap dancing, spoken word, Electronic Music and a Welsh Choral Hymn.

You can read some reviews here, and the work continues to be performed throughout different venues around the UK.

NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING is supported by Hall for Cornwall, Cscape Dance and Richard Chappell Dance.

Choreography: Aisha Naamani

Performer: Myself

Music: Medicine, Snorkel, CVC, C4AR, CF1

Production Manager: Charlie Knight

Outside Eye: Marla King
